Apple Butter
6 apples, cored and peeled
1-1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cloves
3 tsp cinnamon
I cooked this in my crockpot. I just put it all in together without cooking the apples first. (I had already cored and peeled the apples and froze them for a time I could do this, so the apples were thawed from freezing and already kind of mushy.) Cook and stir it until it’s the thickness you want. I just used a potato masher. If you want to can them, place the butter in jars and do a waterbath can for 10 mins.
Yield: 8 half pints
